This six-day Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course provides the knowledge for an attendee to support and facilitate process improvement projects for their organization.

Participants will learn the principles and core tools of Lean Six Sigma. Then, they will practice utilizing the tools and principles in team-based exercises.

Details:

The course introduces Lean Six Sigma principles, problem-solving methods, project management basics, and tools and methods for removing waste from processes and reducing process variation. Topics include PDCA, DMAIC, A3 thinking, the theory of constraints, process metrics, voice of the customer, mistake-proofing, change management, basic statistics to understand and reduce variation, analysis of variation, and leadership and facilitation topics. We also cover other core concepts from the American Society of Quality Book of Knowledge (ASQ-BOK).

Our focus on team Leadership and Facilitation is an important differentiation in our offering. We believe that our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt students will have the greatest success in their endeavors when they have skills in working with the people and teams involved in their processes and value streams. No other course puts equal emphasis on leadership skills as much as ours. Our experienced instructors know how important this is.

Lean East Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

The course introduces Lean Six Sigma principles, problem-solving methods, and tools and methods for removing waste from processes and reducing process variation. Topics include PDCA, DMAIC, A3 thinking, process metrics, voice of the customer, and mistake-proofing. It also includes change management, analysis of variation, basic statistics to understand and reduce variation, and leadership and facilitation topics.

Class participants will also learn Lean tools of value stream process mapping, waste identification, root cause analysis, and 5S. Each topic will be introduced with fun exercises so students have an opportunity to immediately apply what they have learned under the guidance of the instructors.

There are no prerequisites for taking this course. However, a college degree and a minimum of two years of work experience are highly recommended to benefit from the course.

Course Exam and Certification:

Students will take an exam at the end of the 6th day. Upon successful completion of the course and a passing grade, students will then be awarded a Lean Six Sigma Course Completion Certificate.


Instructors:

Robert Cameron

Bob Cameron: Bob is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He believes Lean is not something an organization does, but rather an enabler. That when coupled with the right culture and behavior will help any organization achieve its full potential. Bob has been training a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course for many years and is the Lead Instructor.

Bob has had a 33-year military career, with over ten of those years dedicated to leading Lean deployment for the Navy in Bath, Maine. Responsibilities included advising Senior Leadership on process improvement and quality, planning, and executing Strategic Planning efforts. Also, conducting Value Stream Analysis and teaching Lean Six Sigma courses, mentoring new Black Belts and Green Belts, and developing a Lean/Quality deployment strategy in conjunction with strategic planning efforts. Bob was also a member of the Department of the Navy Executive Steering Committee for Lean working on nationwide improvements.

The American Society for Quality (ASQ) has certified Bob as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.

Michelle Wyman, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Michelle Wyman: Michelle has 30 years of Organizational Development, Training, and Human Resource experience and is certified in Coaching, Change Management, Six Sigma and as a Society of Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional. She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education.

Michelle has developed and implemented leadership programs at varying levels. This includes aspiring leaders, front-line supervisors, and senior leaders. She has trained hundreds of new supervisors on the basics of supervision. She has also developed and trained customized leadership programs across multiple industries. Michelle will train the leadership and team-based modules for the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course and support the participants during the fun learning exercises.

Students will receive printed handouts, training slides, and The Black Belt Memory Jogger: A Pocket Guide for Six Sigma Success. A class syllabus is available upon request.

Payment: The total cost of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course varies based on location, timing, number of participants, and customization. Please contact us for payment info. Grant funding may also be available to pay for half of the cost of the training for frontline workers.
