Introduction to Quality Systems

Lean East designs customized training courses to introduce manufacturing and quality employees to the basics of quality systems and quality improvement tools. Topics include:

  • QMS (Quality Management System): the roadmap for ensuring quality throughout your organization.
  • SPC (Statistical Process Control): statistical tools and techniques used to measure and analyze variations in a process. It helps identify and control any fluctuations that might affect product quality.
  • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning): a structured method used primarily in automotive and aerospace to ensure high-quality products from concept to launch. It involves planning and defining quality throughout the entire development process.
  • PPAP (Production Part Approval Process): a standardized method used in automotive and aerospace to ensure parts from suppliers meet quality requirements. It involves documentation, sample production, and customer approval.
  • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis): a proactive approach to identifying potential failure modes in a product or process, analyzing their risks, and implementing preventive actions.
  • CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action): a process for identifying, investigating, and addressing problems to prevent them from recurring.
  • MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis): a process for evaluating the quality and consistency of your measurement equipment and processes.

The instructor leads the class with engaging exercises and examples from advanced manufacturing and/or medical device industries to bring the quality principles and tools to life. Students leave the classroom ready to apply the lessons immediately.

Grant funding may be available to pay the training costs for frontline workers. Please contact us for more information.
